Gilding the Lily

Hey lovelies! Today I am showing you one of the 2 polishes that are from the fan collection released by Rescue Beauty Lounge.  I will admit that when the finalists and then the winners were announced, I was disappointed. Like so many others, had submitted their dream polish and was confused to see the final four to contain 3 blues when I know there were some awesome colors entered. I also am aware that there is even more controversy regarding this brand now, but I am not going to go into any of that, suffice to say that I like the polishes that RBL puts out.
Here is Aqua Lily in all its glory! This is a gorgeous polish, a little on the thick side, but self leveling. The violet shimmer is so so pretty! One word of warning this polish stains like a bitch! Till next time, ta!

Why oh why?

Hey lovelies! I know I have been posting rather sporadically and I want to apologize for that. I promise that I will start doing better once school gets out. For now enjoy this crazy awesome combo. The polish world was rocked by the announcement that Ozotic was discontinuing the 500 series for the introduction of some new awesomeness. A little bit ago I combined Cult Nails Vicious with Ozotic 528 and holy hell, this combo rocked! There are a bunch of pictures, so feast your eyes on it and then rush to either Llarowe or Overall Beauty and snatch up the 500 series while you can, ta!

Riveting Rosie

Hey lovelies! Today I have one of my favorite polishes from the Colors from the Capitol collection from China Glaze. Riveting, representing district 3, is a gorgeous glass fleck as only China Glaze can do. Riveting is a juicy orange glass fleck that makes me think of summer. This color is so hot! Enough jabbering, check out the pics, ta!

Sexual Chocolate

Hey lovelies! If you get the movie reference in the title you are probably chuckling right now! Today is another entry in my series of brown polishes, dark super shiny gorgeous browns! Granted they look very similar, but I still love them! Zoya Codie is from the Smoke collection and is my favorite of the two. The formula is like butter, the color is deep, shiny and looks like melted chocolate on the nail!

Next up is Essie Little Brown Dress, which is a dark chocolate brown crelly polish. The formula was good and the finish was shiny, but I just prefer Zoya Codie.

There you have it, my version of Sexual Chocolate, what do you think? Do you prefer the Essie over the Zoya or think that it really does not matter? Till next time, ta!

Bliss is This!

Hey lovelies! I know I know it has been a while and I apologize! My family and I run an event venue, Hunting Creek Farms, and we have been busy lately, which means no time for nail polish! We were in the middle of getting ready for a wedding when the Jessica Bliss is This! collection arrived which I thought was totally appropriate! When I opened it up I was a little confused by the color selection for the bridal collection, but then I saw on Scrangie's blog that the colors were dupes to Chanel April, May June.  The Chanel collection was one that I had looked at since my anniversary and both of my kids birthdays are in May, but I have a love hate relationship with Chanel, so I passed. Jessica has a great polish at a great price so this more then satisfied my lemming. The Bliss is This! collection consists of Desire: a claret, Flirtation: a blue based pink and Love Story: creamy peach. The colors are super shiny with out topcoat and I used 3 coats on all swatches. I had a little difficulty with streakiness on Flirtation and Love Story, but they turned out smooth in the end. Desire was the surprise winner in my book, the color is so pretty and it applied like a dream! So, if you were enamored by the Chanel April, May June polishes, but did not want to spend the money, check out the Bliss is This! collection for reasonably priced dupes with a fantastic finish! You can find jessica polishes at www.jessicacosmetics.com. Till next time, ta!

Polishes were sent for my consideration, all opinions are my own.
